Facebook Page, New Video, Unlikely to Snow
by admin on Mar.09, 2010, under meeting
We’ve got a brand new Facebook fan page for Tabletop Minions. You can click the link over to the right, next to the YouTube graphic. Joining the fan page will allow you to sign up for Facebook reminders of the meetings and to make contact with other Minions (if you’re more of a Facebook person rather than a forum person) and you’ll have access to many other features that I don’t currently even understand fully, so that’s nice. Check it out.
Also, the video from last month’s presentation is now up on our YouTube channel. The February presentation was on PDF miniatures games: What’s a PDF? Why are they good or bad? I tried to give the pros and cons and explain why you might be interested. Hopefully I did okay.
Lastly, tonight is our monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at House of Heroes in downtown Oshkosh. Bring some projects you’re working on, or some projects you’ve finished, or some miniatures rules you want to talk about, or just come by to chat with other miniatures gamers and listen. It should not be a blizzard tonight (unlike the last few meetings), so we hope you can stop by.
New Video and Meeting Tonight
by admin on Feb.09, 2010, under meeting
The presentation video from January’s Tabletop Minions meeting is now up on the YouTube channel. The presentation was: What is Primer? I talked about why people prime their miniatures, the different types of primer, why you use certain colors over others, etc. I guess I kinda went a bit long, as I had to edit it down a little bit to make it fit under YouTube’s 10-minute time limit. I’ll try to watch the time better in the future.
Speaking of the future, the February meeting is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at House of Heroes in snowy downtown Oshkosh. Tonight I’ll be doing a presentation on PDF miniatures games: what are they, how do they work and why you might be interested. We hope to see you there.
First Meeting a Success, Despite Snowpocalypse
by admin on Dec.10, 2009, under meeting
Laughing heartily in the face of danger, six brave souls fought the snowy hell that was Oshkosh on Tuesday night and made it to the inaugural meeting of Tabletop Minions. It was mainly just a meet and greet, with much discussion about painting, techniques and some gaming. There was some talk of the future of the club and there was a short presentation.
The presentation was a quick rundown of the goals of the club and what people can expect from the club and its web sites. The presentation was videotaped and will be available on YouTube soon. Watch here for more details.
Remember, the next meeting is Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at House of Heroes in downtown Oshkosh. But until then, make sure you register at the messageboard for more information.
The Inaugural Meeting, December 2009
by admin on Dec.08, 2009, under meeting
Tonight, at 6:30 p.m. at House of Heroes, 407 North Main Street in lovely downtown Oshkosh: The inaugural meeting of the Tabletop Minions miniatures gaming club will start with a short presentation of what the club is about and what the features of the club will be. This presentation will be shorter than 10 minutes and will be videotaped so that it can be posted on YouTube so that others unable to make the meeting will still be able to view the presentation. After the presentation, there will be some time to chat and maybe even play something short, however, with the blizzard bearing down on us, we will probably not want to stay too late.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email them and I’ll get you an answer as soon as I can.
