Come visit your Uncle Atom and play all kinds of fun tabletop wargames! Not a tournament-based event, but an event to learn new games, play fun multiplayer wargames, meet like-minded players, and learn new things.

During this second annual event, you’ll be able to play miniatures games and demos, home-brewed rules, narrative games, and more. There’ll be some teaching seminars, too!

The event is held on the campus of the University Wisconsin Oshkosh and there’s plenty of restaurants and bars right across the street for your enjoyment. There will probably be some activities after the game hall closes on Saturday night.

Saturday badge: $8, Sunday badge: $5, Weekend badge: $12 (you save a dollar!)
The pre-purchase tickets aren’t set up yet. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Games run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m Sunday
Live show runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday morning

Event Title: Bushido Demo
When: Saturday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Game System: Bushido
Description: Bushido is an oriental fantasy tabletop miniature battle game for two players. Each player commands a force of no more than a handful of individuals, represented by 32mm metal miniatures. These forces meet on the battlefield and the commanders (the players, that is) try to outwit, outfight and outlive the opposing force and fulfill their battle objectives while denying the enemy theirs. If you have played tabletop miniature games before, Bushido falls into the ‘skirmish game’ category: all miniatures represent individuals and your force consists of a small group of unique characters rather than a big faceless army. A game of Bushido is fast-moving, flexible and filled with strategizing, counter-strategizing and counter-counter-strategizing. Your tactical acumen is important, but as dice add an element of randomness, so too is your ability to think on your feet. A typical game of Bushido takes between one and two hours to play – more if you are new to the game, less if you are a seasoned veteran.

GAMEMASTER SIGN-UP

This event is known as an ‘expo’ because there won’t be any tournaments. We’re looking for people to run tabletop wargaming demos, fun multiplayer events, ‘homebuilt’ rules systems, playtests, and things of that nature. If you run an event or events for at least four hours, your weekend badge fee will be waived. Table space will be 60 inches by six feet.

Please fill out the form below with your event (if you’d like to run multiple events, please fill out a separate form for each) and if you have any questions, please let me know via email at atom@tabletopminions.org and I’ll get you sorted.

HOUSING

There’s great, reasonably priced dorm-style housing available right upstairs from the game room. Rooms include two twin beds, a dresser, two closets, microwave, refrigerator, air conditioning, and towel sets and run just $40 per night. Call 920-424-1106 for reservations.

VENDORS

Vendor list coming as they’re posted.

To vendors:
We’re accepting vendors for the event. Right up front: this event is pretty small and intimate, and we really only want vendors who are game manufacturers, publishers, and designers or vendors who make products for tabletop wargaming (terrain, models, templates, accessories, etc.) as well. A single six-foot table is $30 for the weekend and includes two vendor badges. Please email me at atom@tabletopminions.org if you’re interested or have questions.

MAP & LOCATION

The event will be on the UW Oshkosh campus at the Gruenhagen Conference Center, 208 Osceola Street, Oshkosh, WI 54901. Check it out here on Google Maps.
